Soroptimist of the Tri-Cities Club History

Soroptimist International of Fremont was chartered on March 1, 2002 and changed its name to Soroptimist International of the Tri-Cities in 2007 to as our projects expanded to include the entire Tri-City area.

We participate annually Women's Opportunity Award Program sponsored by the S.I. of the Americas, the Founder Region Fellowship Grant Program, as well as the Violet Richardson Award program for high school aged girls sponsored by SIA.

The club's identifying project for the past 6 years has been "Pretty Bags for SAVE" which supplies bags filled with personal care items to women at the SAVE Domestic Violence Shelter during the holiday season. We rely on member and business donations to help fill these bags. New for 2008 in addition to the 50 bags we assemble for SAVE we gave an additional 25 bags to an organization who supports survivors of human trafficking in the Bay Area.
